Job summary

The Pennant Group, Inc. is seeking a Medication Aide for our Deercreek Senior Living community in Oshkosh, WI. This 2nd shift, part-time position covers every other weekend and requires caring for residents and administering prescribed medications in compliance with state regulations.

You will observe residents, document in medication records, and communicate concerns to Wellness leadership. The role also supports activities of daily living and helps preserve resident dignity.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of medication assistance training in compliance with state requirements.
• Maintains up-to-date medication certification requirements according to state regulations.
• Prior direct care experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Meets age requirements according to facility policy and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments to residents in accordance with state rules.
• Observes residents taking medications and documents effects and any adverse events in MARs.
• Communicates concerns or observations with Wellness Director or designated personnel.
• Supports residents with activities of daily living, including hygiene, cognition and health.
• Encourages resident independence and preserves dignity through professional conduct.

About the Opportunity

The Medication Aide administers prescribed medications and treatments to residents who need assistance in accordance with state regulatory stipulations and requirements for safe administration.

Observes the resident taking the medication, notes effects including any unexpected or adverse effects, correctly documents the required information in the residents’ medication administration records, communicates any concerns or observations with the Wellness Director, Wellness Coordinator or designated personnel.

The Medication Aide also supports residents with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health.

Encourages resident independence, supports resident choice and preserves resident dignity through professional conduct and interactions.
