Job summary

Village Caregiving is hiring caregivers in Vevay/Florence, IN to provide in-home support. Positions offer immediate hours, paid training, and opportunities for part-time or full-time work.

Responsibilities include assisting with medications, mobility, personal care, therapy exercises, shopping, light housekeeping, and coordinating with nurses and family. CPR certification and a High School diploma are required; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiver experience preferred but not required.
• CPR (American Heart Association) certification required.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Knowledge of housekeeping and dietary considerations.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist with ambulation and mobility around the house or during outings.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist with physical therapy and exercises.
• Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members.
• Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family members.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own, including preparing meals
• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members
• Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family members
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous caregiver experience preferred but not required
• Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner
• Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills
• Physical endurance to complete required tasks
• High school diploma or equivalent
