Job summary

Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC in Tigard, Oregon is seeking a compassionate caregiver for full-time day or evening shifts. The role involves assisting residents with activities of daily living, providing emotional support, helping with housekeeping, and ensuring safety and well-being in Memory Care and Assisted Living settings.

You'll observe health changes, report concerns, maintain confidentiality, and support new residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit or Assisted Living Facility.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

Full-Time Day Shift 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday through Wednesday and Monday through Friday

Full-Time EVE Shift 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Sunday through Thursday, Friday through Tuesday and Thursday through Monday

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
