Job summary

Caring Companions In-Home Senior Care is seeking caregivers in the Springfield area to help older adults stay safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes. You will follow individualized care plans including personal care, light housekeeping, companionship, and transportation when needed.

We offer W-2 employment with weekly pay, overtime after 40 hours, and paid orientation and training. Scheduling is flexible to fit your availability, and ongoing dementia/Alzheimer's care training is

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Pass all required background screenings.
• Hold a valid driver's license and current auto insurance if transporting clients.
• Have reliable transportation and a working phone.
• Meet licensing, certification and training requirements for the role.
• Complete orientation, onboarding, dementia and Alzheimer's training, and annual in-service training.
• Be able to stand, walk, bend and assist with transfers, and lift up to 50 pounds using proper technique.
• Be comfortable working in clients' homes, which may include pets.

Responsibilities

• Follow each client's care plan and complete the care tasks assigned to you.
• Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting and incontinence care, and help with feeding when appropriate.
• Help with mobility, transfers, walking and fall prevention, using proper body mechanics.
• Give medication reminders (not medication administration).
• Prepare meals and keep the home clean and safe, including light housekeeping and laundry.
• Offer companionship and conversation, and encourage social and physical activity.
• Drive or accompany clients to appointments and approved errands when the care plan authorizes it.
• Notice and promptly report any change in a client's condition, mental state, safety or surroundings.
• Clock in and out on AxisCare and finish your notes before the end of each shift.
• Maintain professional boundaries and protect every client's privacy, property and confidentiality.

This is W-2 employment, not contract work. You are paid weekly, overtime is paid for anything over 40 hours in a week, and orientation and training are provided before you start. Schedules are flexible, and we will do our best to build one around what you can actually work.
