Job summary

Merrill Gardens in New Bern, NC is seeking a compassionate Senior Living Caregiver for the Afternoon Shift (3pm – 11pm) to support residents with daily living activities and ensure dignity and respect. As a Caregiver you will assist with dressing, bathing, meals, medication management as permitted, and document progress.

We value teamwork, reliability, and genuine care for seniors in a family‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Current caregiver training/certification as specified by state agency or the ability to obtain.
• CNA license or two years previous experience as a caregiver
• Ability to obtain first aid/CPR certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including dressing, bathing, meals, laundry and general care.
• Manage medication as allowed by the state and completing daily progress reports of services provided.
• Completes progress reports for Assisted Living & Garden House residents daily or more often if needed.

If you are someone with:

• Current caregiver training/certification as specified by state agency or the ability to obtain.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and assisting with resident care. Regular bending, reaching, and physical movement are required throughout the workday.
