Job summary

Momentum is hiring a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support disabled individuals with daily living needs in a group home residential setting in Los Angeles, CA.

As a DSP, you will focus on the person first, assisting with personal care, meals, mobility, and meaningful social activities while partnering with nursing staff and supervisors to ensure high-quality care. Momentum offers comprehensive benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
• CA driver's license (preferred)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience with developmentally disabled individuals preferred
• Ability to pass background, health, TB and drug screenings
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care including dressing, bathing, and hygiene
• Assist with meals, laundry, and housekeeping tasks
• Assist with moving in and out of beds and wheelchairs
• Support participation in outings, crafts, and social events
• Provide direct support as directed by supervisors and nursing staff
• Perform additional duties to meet program needs

As a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will support people with their physical, emotional, and social needs by focusing on the person first. Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) Essential Responsibilities:

• Assists with personal care, including: dressing, undressing, bathing, toileting, and overall hygiene
• Assists with meal preparation, meal clean-up, laundry, and other cleaning tasks
• Assists with moving in and out of beds, wheelchairs, and automobiles
• Assists with activities of interest, such as: outings, crafts, entertainment, and other social events
• Provides direct support and other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s) and/or nursing staff
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs

Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid and current proof of legal right to drive in California; highly preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals; preferred
• Read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English well enough to perform essential duties and responsibilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, health screening, TB screening and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds
