Job Summary
The Child Caregiver is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children in their care. This position supports children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development through structured activities, positive interactions, and attentive supervision. The Child Caregiver helps maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment while promoting healthy development and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal and written communication.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds or more and perform physical activities associated with childcare.
- Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills.
- Passion for working with young children in a diverse and inclusive environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a licensed child care setting preferred.
- Experience implementing age-appropriate educational and developmental activities.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Experience communicating with parents and guardians regarding child development and progress.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and curriculum.
- Promote positive behavior, social skills, and emotional development through guidance and role modeling.
- Monitor and document developmental progress, behavior, and milestones.
- Support meal times, diapering, toileting, and naptime routines.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding child progress, achievements, and concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in accordance with licensing and health standards.
- Follow all center policies, licensing regulations, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with caregivers, teachers, and staff to support a cohesive childcare environment.
- Encourage participation in educational, recreational, and developmental activities.
- Monitor children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure safety and engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
