Job summary

The Aspenwood Company is seeking compassionate Resident Assistants to join our senior living community. Help residents with daily living activities, provide companionship, and support a warm, homelike environment in Village of Southampton. PRN shifts required; weekend and holiday availability is expected.

Join a team dedicated to respectful, dignified care for seniors. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, feeding, activities, and documenting resident conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities while promoting independence.
• Serve meals and assist in meal preparation, encouraging proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities to promote socialization and friendships.
• Maintain accurate records of leisure activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment and perform housekeeping duties as needed.
• Follow emergency procedures and respond promptly to resident requests, including call pendants and phones.
• Know residents’ locations, remind sign-outs, and report when residents cannot be located.
• Contribute to a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with coworkers.
• Attend required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain professional appearance and hygiene according to policies.

Location: Village of Southampton, an Independent and Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community

PRN Shifts | Must be able to work two different shifts

Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
