Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. is hiring a Personal Care Assistant in California to support clients with daily activities, personal care, and mobility needs.

The role offers day, evening, and overnight shifts with part-time or full-time options and a pay range of $20–$25 per hour, plus weekly paychecks. This position requires state licensure or certification as needed, plus a current BLS card and related screenings.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with families and health providers.
• Current BLS card and state-required certifications.
• 1 year of relevant home care experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand and follow care plans and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to clients needing help with daily activities.
• Perform health care tasks, personal hygiene and related support as per care plan.
• Assist with transfers and ambulation.
• Perform incidental household tasks integral to care plan.
• Provide companionship and engage client in activities.
• Encourage development of independent self-care skills.
• Report changes in client status as directed by care plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities
• Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene services, and other related support services essential to the client’s health
• Assists with transfers and ambulation
• Performs incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan
• Provides companionship by reading, listening and talking with client
• Assists client in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene
• Appropriately reports changes in client status or as directed by care plan
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Requirements

• State licensure or certification as required by state and/or program
• One (1) year relevant experience preferred
• Current BLS Card
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
• Knowledge of child growth and development
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between the home, school,local health agency, and other community resources
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to,supervisors, co-workers, clients) viastrong communicationskills; proficiency inthe English language may berequired
• Computer proficiency required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
