Job summary

Visiting Angels Baytown is seeking compassionate caregivers to serve seniors in the Southeast Houston area, including Baytown and surrounding communities. Join our local team and help with light housekeeping, meals, mobility assistance, transportation, and companionship.

We offer training in dementia or Alzheimer’s care, flexible shifts (full-time, part-time, 8/10/12 hour shifts, PRN) and benefits like health, dental, vision, weekly and daily pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist with ambulation and mobility around the home or during appointments.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Help with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input.
• Do shopping or accompany clients while shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping as needed.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report unusual incidents and act quickly in emergencies.

Caregiver Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shopPerform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Caregiver Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
