Job summary

Visiting Angels Amarillo is seeking a compassionate Caregiver to provide exceptional support to clients in facilities and private homes throughout the Panhandle region, including Amarillo and nearby towns.

The role involves assisting with ADLs, monitoring health, meal planning, safety, and medication administration, while engaging clients to promote well‑being and memory care needs. Strong teamwork and HIPAA awareness are required.

Qualifications

• Home health or hospice care experience.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques.
• Familiarity with patient monitoring and vital sign assessment.
• Memory care or Alzheimer's care experience.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and observing health or behavior changes.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well‑being.
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely.
• Document care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding concerns or changes in client status.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Our office in Amarillo provides caregivers for the Panhandle area including Amarillo, Claude, Hereford, Dumas, Borger, Fritch, Canyon, Pampa, and many others.

Caregiver Duties
