Alaska Commercial Company (ACC) invites pairs to apply for Store Manager-in-Training and Front-End Manager-in-Training roles in rural Alaska. This unique two-person opportunity includes relocation and housing support as part of a full-time, permanent career path in our store network.

You will join a dedicated team, share knowledge, lead customer service, and work toward a Store Manager position after training.

Your Responsibilities:

This is a training position. Once you complete your training, you will move into a Store Manager position. Each retail team member plays a vital role in our stores and the communities they serve. You will be asked to take care of various tasks throughout the store.

Skills and Qualifications:

We’re looking for professional, organized workers with a healthy sense of adventure and a strong knowledge and experience base.

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a high-volume grocery/retail environment
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail
  • Proven organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and superior customer service skills
  • Must have the ability and desire to develop an in-depth understanding of ACC's customers
  • Demonstrates a personal and enthusiastic commitment to ACC's vision, mission, values, and strategies
  • Highly motivated and adventurous with an appreciation for small-town life in a culturally diverse setting, considered an asset
  • Must work in extreme conditions in remote parts of Alaska, depending on time of year
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly
  • Ability to work extended hours
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time on a daily basis
  • Ability to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to train in any one of our training locations, depending on the need, with the understanding that once you are done in this training location, you will be relocated to another location, based onoperational needs

Housing Guidelines:

Company-provided housing is intended for employees and their immediate family members only, defined as a spouse or partner and dependent children. Most housing units have an occupancy limit of four individuals. Exceptions will be reviewed and must be approved in advance by the Director of Operations.

Pet Policy:

Due to the remote nature of our locations, limited housing options, and restricted access to veterinary care, pets are generally discouraged. Pet requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by the Director of Operations. In communities where pets are permitted, there is a firm limit of two pets per unit—no exceptions. Service animals are permitted in accordance with applicable laws.
