Job summary

TrinityRail Maintenance Services, Inc. in Cartersville, Georgia, is hiring a Welder to join our railcar maintenance team. You will lay out, fit, and weld fabricated metal parts using manual and semi-automatic processes, and you will ensure conformance to blueprints and specs.

Responsibilities include preparing parts, tack-welding, inspecting finished work, and maintaining safety practices. 1–2 years’ experience preferred; overtime and weekends may be required on first shift.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience preferred.
• Proficiency in fillet & grove welds, oxy-fuel cutting, and carbon arc.
• Ability to pass weld assessment.
• Ability to measure within specified tolerances.
• Ability to work first shift 6:00am–4:30pm with required overtime, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align and fit metal parts for welding.
• Tack-weld parts together.
• Weld using manual and/or semi-automatic equipment.
• Lay out and mark weld points on parts.
• Position pieces in jigs and fixtures for welding.
• Inspect finished work for conformance to specs.
• Follow all safety rules and maintain records.
• May perform welding on stainless.
