Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a dedicated program coordinator to identify, recruit, and guide high school students through the JAG framework, aligning activities with Transition to Success and developing individualized career plans. • Develop plans for non-graduates transitioning to work or further education.
• Travel to local and out-of-state meetings and trainings.

Job description

• Identify, recruit, and instruct high school students facing challenges with academic promotion, graduation, and the transition from school to careers
• Align interactions, processes, and materials with the Transition to Success philosophy and practices
• Implement the JAG curriculum and use lectures, hands‑on activities, and team teaching
• Develop and implement individual intervention strategies
• Recruit students and secure referrals from school personnel, the Advisory Committee, and parents
• Interview potential candidates and referring parties to assess eligibility using JAG guidelines
• Administer assessments and career interest surveys
• Create and implement individualized career development plans
• Build relationships with teachers, administrators, and the Advisory Committee
• Promote the JAG program in schools and the broader community
• Attend and speak at community events
• Work with employers, parents, civic groups, and legislators to build program awareness and support
• Develop job opportunities, internships, apprenticeships, and job shadows
• Organize and advise the JAG Career Association
• Provide guidance, counseling, and support, referring students to additional services as needed
• Follow school policies concerning discipline, attendance, and mandated reporting
• Maintain accurate student, employer, community contact, and classroom documentation in JAGForce and student hard files
• Securely maintain student files
• Help students secure and retain employment or post-secondary education opportunities
• Provide follow-up support for 12 months after graduation
• Develop contact plans for non-graduates transitioning to employment or further education
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance
• Travel to local and out-of-state meetings, events, and trainings
• Supervise staff throughout the state, including direct supervision of Refugee Support Services Case Managers
• Participate in staff, regional, and statewide meetings; professional development; school activities; lunch duty; field trips; and special projects

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and experience working with high school students
• A valid Wisconsin Teaching License may be required depending on the location of the position
• Ability to engage with school staff, students, employers, and community members
• Ability to establish supportive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
• Ability to develop curriculum and educational opportunities aligned with the JAG model
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with school and organizational policies
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database management applications
• Experience with virtual learning platforms, digital communication tools, and student information systems is preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Office 365 knowledge
• Ability to learn program‑specific software and technological tools
• Typing speed of 30 WPM with at least 95% accuracy
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups, clients, customers, and the public
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and make recommendations
