Description
Join the Jefferson County Business & Workforce Center (BWC), a resource hub serving Jefferson, Clear Creek, and Gilpin counties. As a Career Specialist, you will guide individuals in discovering their career purpose, advocate for equitable access and economic mobility, and support underrepresented populations. Your role involves facilitating successful connections between job seekers and businesses, assessing career interests, imparting employment skills, and exploring diverse career opportunities. The position offers a chance to make a tangible community impact and develop a rewarding career in workforce development.

Schedule
Hybrid model: training in-office 4 days/week, post-training 3 days/week with potential for 4 days based on agency needs. Must have access to a private workspace and reliable internet when remote within Colorado.

Compensation
Range: $26.00 - $27.00/hour, determined by education, experience, and skills.

Essential Duties

  1. Conduct individual career coaching to evaluate experience, transfer skills, and address barriers, connecting clients with resources.
  2. Provide career and job readiness guidance through trauma-informed customer service, including assessments, eligibility determinations, coaching, and referrals.
  3. Assist clients with resumes, interview prep, networking, and career activities.
  4. Develop community partnerships and maintain accurate records of client activities.
  5. Ensure compliance with regulations and policies, stay updated on labor market trends, and participate in organizational initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of work-related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
