Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Commerce, Division of Workforce Solutions, invites applications for an entry level Career Employment Services Consultant I (S) in Marion. The role supports job seekers and employers through core employment services in a local career center.

You will deliver employment services, guidance and training, while assisting with job development, referrals and placement. Travel may be required; the position is full-time with state benefits and a supportive team

Qualifications

• Provide information, guidance and assistance to customers seeking employment and employers seeking workers.
• Administer DWS policies and rules and advocate employment for job seekers within the business community.
• Cross-train in Career Center services and RESEA; collaborate with ISD teams to ensure effective service delivery.
• Travel may be required based on business need.
• Readvertisement; recruitment range is posted and will stop at closing date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver employment services, job training and limited unemployment insurance guidance.
• Provide labor market information to customers and employers.
• Plan, promote, review and evaluate services and assist job seekers with assessments, referrals and placement.
• Conduct interviews, enter information into databases and research job orders.
• Coordinate with workforce partners in an Integrated Services Delivery environment.
