Job summary

TrinityRail Maintenance Services, Inc. in Cartersville, GA is hiring a Career Painter to prepare, coat, and finish metal surfaces in a railcar maintenance setting. You will operate spray equipment, mix coatings, and ensure proper drying conditions.

The role requires willingness to work day and night shifts with overtime, including weekends if needed, and a focus on safety and quality workmanship. Prior painting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of paint experience preferred.
• Willing to work dayshift and nightshift with overtime, including weekends if required.
• Experience with spray equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, coats and finishes metal surfaces.
• Operates conventional and airless spray equipment to apply finishes.
• Mixes and applies alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, powder coats, urethane, zinc epoxies and waterborne paint systems.
• Adjusts nozzles to achieve proper dispersion and monitors viscosity.
• Cleans paint lines, guns and performs preventative maintenance.
• Regulates temperature and air flow in drying ovens.
• May perform Prep and Sandblast duties.
• Maintains required paperwork and follows safety practices.

TrinityRail Maintenance Services, Inc. is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Career Painter in our Cartersville GA office. We provide a complete array of railcar maintenance services. We welcome your business leadership and people leadership and drive to excellence.

What You'll Do:

• Prepares, coats and finishes metal and/or other surfaces.
• Operates conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of surfaces.
• Mixes and applies alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, powder coats, urethane, zinc epoxies and water borne paint systems according to a prescribed formula.
• Adjusts nozzles on spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray and monitors the flow and viscosity of the paint for solution.
• Proper use of mill gauge and monitors pressure amount.
• Cleans paint lines, paint guns and performs other cleaning preventative maintenance to ensure that painting apparatus remains in working order.
• Regulates the temperature and air circulation in drying ovens.
• May also perform duties of Prep and Sandblast Worker.
• Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required.
• Follows all safety rules and practices.
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Must be willing to work dayshift and nightshift Monday - Friday and all required overtime to include weekend work if required
• 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
