Job Objective

This role is accountable to troubleshoot, repair, install, optimize and conduct preventative maintenance for site facilities, utilities and production equipment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in any GOJO facility, following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings.
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structures and grounds.
  • May install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications.
  • May install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
  • May set up and operate machine tools, such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts.
  • May operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • May fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Familiar with emergency procedures and equipment necessary to safely and effectively respond to an emergency involving hazardous waste.
  • Assures hazardous wastes, universal wastes and used oil are placed in the appropriate container that is properly labeled, is in good condition and is closed.
Education and Experience - Required

High school graduate or GED.

Mechanic I – Has previously worked in a manufacturing maintenance environment.

Mechanic II – 1-3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience.

Mechanic III – 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
