Job description

Brayman Construction Corporation, a recognized leader in heavy civil and geotechnical construction headquartered in Saxonburg, is seeking a skilled and motivated Career Development Manager to join our expanding team. This role is responsible for creating and implementing impactful career growth initiatives that align with company goals, supporting employee development, and cultivating future leadership within the organization.

This is a dynamic position that blends strategic planning with hands‑on execution, offering the opportunity to directly influence career progression across the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the career development function, including oversight of the current development coach
  • Design and implement a comprehensive career development strategy to enhance employee retention and internal advancement
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, HR, and department managers to ensure development programs support organizational objectives
  • Facilitate regular one‑on‑one coaching sessions focused on career planning, goal setting, and skill enhancement
  • Create, manage, and evaluate non‑safety training initiatives, including leadership development programs
  • Track and report employee development progress and readiness to senior leadership
  • Support employees in navigating workplace challenges and professional growth opportunities
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Identify and pursue external funding opportunities, including training grants
  • Partner closely with HR, recruiting, and executive leadership teams
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail in written communication, documentation, and task execution
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening
  • Strong organizational abilities with effective time management
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and critical thinking capabilities
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% as needed
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, Organizational Development, Education, or a related discipline preferred
  • Equivalent experience (5-8 years) in a similar role may be considered in place of formal education
Safety Sensitive Position

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. The position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. It will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Some positions with the company will have access to confidential and proprietary information. Successful candidates for those positions will be required to sign our standard confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment.
