This position supports students and alumni through career exploration, job search strategies, graduate school preparation, and professional development. Responsibilities include administering and interpreting career assessments, reviewing application materials, conducting mock interviews, and facilitating workshops and class presentations. The Career Counselor Intern also utilizes the University’s career platform (Handshake) to track appointments and maintain counseling records, manages online career resources and scheduling systems, and ensures effective use of technology to enhance service delivery.Major Duties and Responsibilities:CAREER COUNSELINGProvides career counseling and related services to individuals and groups to ensure clients realize and accomplish their career goals.Counsels clients on job search strategies and graduate school assistance by:Reviewing resumes, cover letters, and application essays,Providing guidance on the interview process and mock interview sessions,Promoting the development of professional networks,Strategizing job and salary offer through negotiation,Supporting career management and advancement,And any other matter related to career development.Cofacilitates, develops and conducts career development related workshops and class presentations for specific and identified populations.Supports clients through the career exploration process by administering and interpreting personality, interest, value, and skill assessments (such as the Strong Interest Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, StrengthsFinder, etc.)Utilizes CCPD’s career platform, Handshake, to track appointments and write detailed counseling notes.TECHNOLOGY AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENTUtilizes technology and managing resources effectively.Manages the career centers online platforms, including appointment scheduling system.Performs related duties as necessary to support the missions of the Center for Career and Professional Development and Regis University.Minimum QualificationsCurrently working towards a Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education, or related field.Enrolled in an Internship Course and receiving faculty supervision through academic program.Strong oral communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.Strong writing skills.Ability to work with internal and external teams.Adaptable and flexible.Ability to analytically and critically think when solving problems.Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.Occasionally work early mornings and nights in support of employer events. This will most likely not exceed 2-3 times per semesterPreferred QualificationsGraduate level Career Counseling course completed by the start of internship.Experience in conducting workshops, class presentations, or other group training sessions.Special Instructions to Applicants:Please submit a resume, cover letter and list of references with your application.
