Job summary

Gesher Human Services is seeking a Career Counselor to provide short-term, solution-focused counseling to individuals exploring career and educational opportunities. You will help clients create a career development plan by administering assessments for skills, values, and personality.

The role involves conducting assessments, individual and group counseling, developing CDPs, and coordinating with community partners to assist clients with job search and long-term planning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work or related field.
• LMSW or LPC license/certification preferred.
• 1–3 years related experience; experience with disabilities preferred.
• Certification in Resume Writing required within 6 months of hire.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with clients, staff and public.

Responsibilities

• Complete an initial assessment for each client and monitor ongoing needs.
• Establish counseling relationship and develop a counseling plan.
• Achieve a Career Development Plan rate aligned with Agency goals.
• Conduct group counseling sessions and workshops as assigned.
• Administer and interpret career assessments.
• Assist clients to interpret career information to form plans.
• Refer clients to needed services within the agency or community.
• Assist with resume preparation and job search skills.
• Help clients adjust to the work environment.
• Maintain case records and submit required reports.
