Equus Workforce Solutions is seeking a dedicated counselor to support students in its Job Corps program. The role focuses on collaborating with departments, assessing student progress, and guiding education and training opportunities to improve career readiness.
The successful candidate will document sessions, coordinate with community services, and prepare reports for external agencies while supporting diverse youth through transitions into their selected career pathways.

Actively collaborates with all other departments to best meet the needs of each student.
Assesses and evaluates continuously those students assigned to them on both formal and informal levels.
Aidsstudents in continuing their educationorparticipatinginadditionaltraining.
Aids students inconnecting with community services necessary for successful transition fromthe Job Corps programtotheir chosen pathway.
Documents minimum of two monthly student contact counseling sessions for minors and one counseling session for adult students; frequency is adjusted for students on probationary status or withdemonstratedneed for more support.
Information is reviewed and updated as neededin CIS.
Performsretrievalefforts; grants and verifiesleaves andpasses per PRH and Center Director mandates. Enterappropriate informationin CIS.
Assistsstudents in setting short and long-term goals,identifyingstrengths and career challenges and resolution of personal issues affecting career readiness.
Completes ongoing assignments given by theCounseling Supervisorand all other program administrative personnel.
Submits written student reports/evaluations as needed to outside agencies, referrals to Mental Health Consultant, Review Boards, or at the Center Director's request.
Participates in joint sessions with resident advisors and the Center Mental Health Consultantto review student records and completes special needs requests for Mental Health oradditionalspecific counselingas needed.
