Job summary

Lumibility in Guilford, CT, seeks a dedicated Employment Support Specialist to assist individuals with differing abilities in securing meaningful employment and needed supports. You will supervise, train, and guide clients, promoting social skills, positive behaviors, and community participation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years' employment/support experience for people with differing abilities.
• Valid Connecticut driver's license and access to a vehicle.
• Ability to travel between Guilford and New Haven as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the health, safety and well-being of people served by Lumibility in accordance with the individual service plan and agency policies.
• Meet employment needs of assigned caseload, including career exploration, job placement, career counseling, coaching/support, and advocacy.
• Assist individuals with career development, such as resume writing and interview preparation.
• Train and support individuals at employment sites.
• Provide individualized follow-along supports to help maintain employment.
• Maintain medical, social and programmatic files with progress notes and required documentation.
• Create own schedule for caseloads to meet position hours.
• Transport and secure transportation for employment or community needs.
