Metropolitan Family Services in Wisconsin is seeking a full-time Career Coach for the Calumet DV Housing Team to help job seekers prepare for employment and achieve sustainable outcomes. This role emphasizes counseling, planning, and hands-on support to secure work and maintain employment.

The position involves conducting assessments, developing employment plans, coaching on resumes and interview skills, and coordinating with community partners.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in HR, business, or communications.
  • 3+ years in workforce development or case management required.
  • 6+ years in workforce development/case management for at-risk populations required.
  • Coaching and goal setting experience required.
  • DV 40-hour training preferred or must be secured within 1 year.

Responsibilities

  • Perform situational assessments and vocational exploration.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individual employment plans.
  • Coordinate with referral sources and community organizations.
  • Provide resume and cover letter assistance; conduct mock interviews.
  • Travel to job seekers' homes and worksites as needed.
  • Maintain files in funder databases and meet deadlines.

We are currently searching for a Full-Time Career Coach to joinour Calumet DV Housing Team!

SALARY:

  • The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $44,000 and $49,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform situational assessments and vocational exploration activities.
  • Assess and addresses barriers to employment. Provide supportive services where appropriate.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individual employment plans.
  • Coordinate and communicate with referral sources, community-based organizations, and other workforce providers.
  • Monitor employment retention, secure employment verifications, and enter proof of employment into required database.
  • Works within program, grant and agency requirements to meet deadlines.
  • Utilizes a team approach and works with other workforce staff to plan, implement and reach programs deliverables and goals.
  • Travel to job seekers homes, worksites, community meetings, etc.
  • Maintain job seekers physical and electronic files in funder required database.
  • Facilitates Job Readiness Training and other group activities.
  • Assists Job Seekers with creating and editing resumes and cover letters.
  • Contact job seekers on a weekly basis after enrollments and gradually decreasing contact after employment placement.
  • Conducts mock interviews.
  • Assist in establishing employment goals.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office but willing to learn (shows level of growth in specified period).
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

  • Works effectively with diverse staff and service populations.
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills.
  • May be required to work one Saturday and at least one late night a month.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent educationrequired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business, communications, or a related fieldpreferred.
  • 3+ years of training or demonstrated experience in providing workforce development/case managementrequired.
  • 6+ years of training or demonstrated experience in providing workforce development/case management services for at-risk populations,required.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and goal setting,required.
  • Certified Workforce Development Professional Certificate preferred or must secure it within 1 year of employmentpreferred.
  • DV 40-hour trainingpreferredat hire, but training will be provided if candidate does not have it at time of employment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Satisfactorily pass all relevant screenings and criminal background checks.

TRANSPORTATNION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Driving for work required with a personally owned vehicle. Travel between sites required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
