Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois is seeking a Mission Training Instructor to deliver hands-on digital skills training and career coaching to adult learners at our Peoria office. You will guide participants through outreach, barrier removal, curriculum delivery, and long-term coaching to support job placement.

Responsibilities include in-person and virtual teaching, resume work, soft-skills training, and building partnerships with employers and social services to sustain outcomes.

Qualifications

• No degree required; capability and learning a priority.
• Skilled at organizing, delivering, and evaluating training programs.
• Mentor adult learners and foster a positive learning environment.
• Proficient with Office, Google Workspace and AI tools; LMS experience.
• Maintain professional networks with employers and community partners.
• Strong oral, written and digital communication skills.
• Works well in a team and contributes to a positive work environment.
• Adaptable to shifting priorities and new challenges.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person and virtual instruction on essential digital skills.
• Teach job search literacy and use of professional networks and AI tools.
• Adapt materials for diverse learner needs and update curricula.
• Conduct intakes, identify barriers, and develop success plans.
• Provide coaching to support course completion and job placement.
• Deliver soft skills training such as interview prep and etiquette.
• Assist in creating resumes, letters, and digital portfolios.
• Lead community outreach to recruit participants and promote services.
• Establish referrals with social services and employers.
• Engage with local businesses for direct connections to graduates.
• Maintain participant progress records and ensure data compliance.
• Prepare for audits and financial reviews; monitor facility security.
