Role Description
This is a part-time role for a Career Coach. The Career Coach will be responsible for providing job coaching and career counseling, facilitating career development programs, assisting with interview preparation, and offering guidance on career paths. The Career Coach will play a crucial role in helping learners achieve their career goals and succeed in the job market.
Responsibilities
Career Coaching:
- Conduct individual and group career coaching sessions to assist learners in defining their career goals, developing job search strategies, and creating tailored resumes, cover letters, and portfolios.
- Provide guidance and support in honing interview skills, including mock interviews and feedback sessions to help learners prepare for technical and behavioral interviews.
- Offer advice on networking, professional branding, and leveraging online platforms for job search purposes.
Job Placement Support:
- Assist learners in preparing job applications, tailoring resumes, and creating compelling cover letters to maximize their chances of securing interviews.
- Support learners in negotiating job offers, reviewing employment contracts, and providing guidance on salary expectations and benefits packages.
- Track and monitor learner job placement progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation of learner outcomes for reporting purposes.
Learner & Alumni Community Management
- Contribute to learner/alumni community by asking meaningful questions, providing relevant resources, and centralizing communication into one place.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in career coaching, job placement, or talent acquisition/recruitment, preferably within the tech industry, is required.
- Strong knowledge of the tech job market, including in-demand skills, industry trends, and employer expectations.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with various job search tools, applicant tracking systems, and professional networking platforms.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Passion for helping others succeed and a genuine interest in supporting individuals' career development.
- Familiarity with Prentus and HubSpot a plus.
