Job summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College is recruiting a full-time Career Coach in High School Connections to assist high school students in choosing career goals and identifying CTE programs at FTCC.

The Career Coach will work with high school counselors, coordinate with the Coordinator for High School Connections, and help students enroll in Career and Technical Education programs while maintaining enrollment records and supporting college readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of career coaching and admissions experience.
• Ability to collaborate with high school counselors and coordinators.

Responsibilities

• Promote and facilitate career pathways at local high schools.
• Collaborate with counselors and coordinators.
• Provide college and career advising and enrollment assistance.
• Maintain enrollment records and reporting.
• Represent the College at events including career days.
• May teach an ACA college course.
• Provide exceptional customer service.

Fayetteville Technical Community College is recruiting for a new member to join our Student Services Team and now accepting applications for a full-time Career Coach in High School Connections! The Career Coach plans, organizes, coordinates, and participates in activities designed to assist high school students with determining career goals and identifying community college Career and Technical Education ( CTE ) programs that will enable them to achieve these goals.

We offer a valuable benefits package that includes the following:

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Promote and facilitate career pathways at local high schools that include a systematic framework of Career and College Promise, articulated credit, and CTE programs of study at the College.
• Work in collaboration with high school counselors, high school career development coordinators, Coordinator for High School Connections, and Cumberland County Schools’ Career Pathways Coordinator, as well as member organizations of Cumberland County.
• Provide college and career advising, guidance in career pathways, and registration assistance with enrollment in Career and Technical Education programs.
• Maintain records for enrollment, tracking, and reporting purposes.
• Participate in any college and school related activities in which CCP / CTE career pathways can be promoted (e.g. Parent Nights), to help students and parents make informed decisions about career pathway options.
• Represent the College weekdays, evenings, and weekends as required at community and outside organization functions including career days, special events and conferences.
• Meet with educational administrators and instructors to exchange information and answer questions about career pathways, prepare and deliver presentations regarding College instructional programs, services, and career pathways.
• Provide intervention, advising, resources, and strategies for students in need of academic support.
• Work with the Career and College advising team to ensure CCP and College enrollment goals are met and CTE career pathway materials and instructional supplies are disseminated.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities as directed by the Coordinator for High School Connections.
• Engage students, counselors, faculty, parents, and all stakeholders in information sessions and events related to college success and CCP advising sessions related to CTE career pathway programs.
• Maintain quality partnerships with secondary school personnel in collaboration with the Coordinator for High School Connections.
• May teach an ACA college course.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator for High School Connections.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. Two years of increasingly responsible career coaching and admissions experience or other relevant coaching responsibilities.
