Job summary

Maine Department of Labor’s Bureau of Employment Services invites applications for a CareerCenter Consultant in Portland. You will provide employment and career guidance, assess needs, and connect jobseekers with programs and training to achieve goals.

You will engage employers, develop service plans, manage caseloads, and coordinate workshops and events to expand workforce development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct career and employment assessments to identify strengths, goals, and barriers.
• Develop service strategies and referrals to programs and partners.
• Determine program eligibility and coordinate supportive services.
• Manage caseloads and maintain accurate case records per requirements.
• Provide outreach and services in community and off-site locations.
• Develop and facilitate workshops on employment and career development.
• Coordinate job fairs and employer outreach activities.
• Consult with employers to understand workforce needs and provide resources.
• Provide front-line assistance in CareerCenter Information Centers.
