Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

Job Summary

The Specialist, CTA Navigator serves as the primary support and liaison for trainees participating in the Goodwill Clean Tech Accelerator (CTA) program. This role focuses on ensuring participants’ success by addressing individual needs, monitoring progress, and providing resources for professional and personal development. The Program Navigator works closely with the Classroom Instructor, Program Coordinator, and external stakeholders to guide trainees through the program and prepare them for careers in the clean tech industry.

This role complements the Classroom Instructor by focusing on individualized support and logistical coordination, ensuring trainee success throughout the CTA program.

Essential Functions

Participant Support:

Community Outreach To Prospective Students

  • Develop and execute outreach strategies to engage potential students in the community through events, workshops, and networking opportunities.
  • Partner with community organizations, schools, and local agencies to promote program offerings, and recruit students.
  • Conduct informational sessions and one-on-one (1:1) meetings to educate prospective students about program benefits, expectations, and career pathways.
  • Maintain a database of outreach activities and track the recruitment pipeline to ensure enrollment goals are met.

Onboarding

  • Assist trainees with completing the Code of Conduct and understanding the program's vocational expectations, structure, and schedule.
  • Facilitate introductions during team-building exercises to foster a collaborative environment.

Guidance And Development

  • Provides one-on-one (1:1) and group coaching to help trainees articulate their goals and interests in the clean tech industry.
  • Support trainees in navigating program expectations, including attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
  • Encourage trainees to actively participate in Foundations Week and subsequent training sessions.

Monitoring And Feedback

  • Tracks participant progress, attendance, and performance.
  • Address challenges or barriers trainees face, providing timely intervention and resources.

Program Coordination

Logistical Support:

  • Collaborate with instructors to ensure smooth delivery of program content, including safety protocols and technical training.
  • Coordinate lab tools, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) distribution, and training materials for participants.

Resource Connection

  • Serves as a resource connector for trainees, linking them to industry networking opportunities, job placements, and external support services (e.g., childcare, transportation).
  • Support trainees in preparing for certifications, such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 and First Aid/CPR.

Placement Services

Providing Soft Skills Support:

  • Facilitate workshops and one-on-one (1:1) coaching sessions to enhance students' communication, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Provide training on workplace expectations, such as punctuality, conflict resolution, and effective communication.
  • Use role-playing, simulations, and real-world scenarios to help students develop problem-solving and adaptability skills.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on students’ progress in soft skills development, offering targeted interventions as needed.

Placement Preparation

  • Assist students in crafting professional resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles tailored to the clean tech industry.
  • Provide interview preparation, including mock interviews and feedback sessions.
  • Educate students on industry-specific job search strategies and networking techniques.
  • Guide students in understanding employer expectations and aligning their career goals with job opportunities.

Employer Hiring

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers in the clean tech and related industries to identify placement opportunities.
  • Match students’ skills, interests, and career goals with suitable job openings.
  • Coordinate interviews between students and potential employers, ensuring smooth communication and preparation.
  • Track placement outcomes, maintaining detailed records of student employment status and progress.

Post-Placement Services

  • Conduct regular check-ins with placed students to monitor their adjustment and success in the workplace.
  • Act as a liaison between students and employers to address any challenges or concerns that arise post-placement.
  • Offer ongoing professional development resources and workshops to help students advance in their careers.
  • Encourage students to stay connected with the program for mentorship and networking opportunities.

Program Evaluation

  • Track key metrics, such as recruitment numbers, soft skills improvements, placement rates, and job retention statistics.
  • Analyze program data to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on program outcomes to stakeholders, highlighting achievements and recommendations for growth.
  • Collaborate with the program team to implement enhancements based on feedback and performance data.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Education, Human Services, Public Administration or related field is required.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience and/or training or experience in case management, career coaching, navigation services or workforce development.
  • Knowledge of vocational training and clean tech or construction industries is preferred.
  • Instructional experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with safety and technical standards in lab-based or industrial environments.

Other

  • Communication and Outreach Skills: Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. Ability to act as a spokesperson for Goodwill programs as needed. Ability to communicate with program participants and explain program services in a meaningful manner.
  • Ability to analyze participant patterns and maximize outreach efforts to agencies and potential participants. Ability to develop new outreach methods and determine target areas for outreach. Ability to motivate participants to attend services at the centers and to motivate service providers and employers to send participants to centers for services.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Work Environment: The incumbent will spend a majority of time working in a high traffic office area. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*. Travel between offices is approximately 40%.
  • Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:
  • 19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
  • 25 – 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
  • 21 years of age for CDL.

Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.
