Job summary

Middlesex Community College is seeking a part-time Career Ambassador to support student services in career exploration, professional development, and Learn & Earn opportunities. The role offers a chance to build skills in problem solving, teamwork, sales and marketing, research, and communication.

The position reports to the Dean of Career Integrated Learning and requires strong writing, office experience, and a minimum 2.75 GPA.

Qualifications

  • Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75.
  • Experience in an office and/or professional written communication.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills; solid basic computing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Increase students' familiarity with and utilization of Handshake and Focus2.
  • Assist with career fairs, represent OCIL at open houses and campus events.
  • Assist OCIL staff in editing students' resumes and cover letters.
  • Help students create / update LinkedIn profiles.
  • Help with data management and research projects.
  • Deliver presentations to students to promote programs and resources.
  • Assist with administrative tasks to keep OCIL running smoothly.
  • Offer one-to-one and group peer mentoring for Learn & Earn students.

Job Description:

Department: Office of Career Integrated Learning

Reports to: Dean of Career Integrated Learning

Date: September 9, 2026

General Summary: The Career Ambassador will work with OCIL staff to provide student services related to career exploration, professional development and Learn & Earn opportunities. The position offers a unique opportunity to develop the following professional skills: problem solving, teamwork, sales & marketing, research, one-on-one and group communication, customer service - all of which are highly valued by employers across all industries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Increase students' familiarity with and utilization of Handshake and Focus2
  • Assist with career fairs, represent Office of Career Integrated Learning [OCIL] at open houses and other relevant campus-wide events
  • Assist OCIL staff in editing students' resumes and cover letters
  • Help students create / update LinkedIn profiles
  • Help with data management and research projects, as needed
  • In collaboration with OCIL staff, prepare and deliver presentations to students to promote key programs, best practices and resources
  • Ensure smooth running of OCIL by proactively assisting with various administrative tasks
  • Offer one-to-one and group peer mentoring opportunities for Learn & Earn students
Requirements:
  • Must be in good academic and student conduct standing
  • Experience working in an office and/or in a role involving professional written communication
  • Must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.75
  • Excellent communication and writing skills; solid basic computing skills
  • Enthusiastic about the OCIL mission, eager to learn and highly dependable
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly establish rapport and work well with students from diverse backgrounds and with various academic needs
  • Strong time management skills, proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment experience requirements]
Additional Information:

Location: Bedfordcampus with occasional travel to Lowell as needed, if transportation is available

Hours: 12 - 18 hours per week, schedule to be determined upon hire,

Expected Start Date: September 2026
