Job Title: Career Advisor I

Employment Type: Long-term 6-to-12-month assignment, temporary to hire.

Position Summary:

The Career Advisor I (CA) is a key member of the workforce development team. This role provides personalized career counseling and coaching to assist customers in enhancing their skills and obtaining meaningful employment. The CA plays a vital part in expanding employment opportunities for job seekers through strategic career exploration and planning.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct comprehensive career assessments for a broad range of individuals, from professionals to those with significant barriers to employment
  • Evaluate job seekers' training and development needs, vocational skills, employment history, and interests to support long-term career planning
  • Empower and guide job seekers by recommending appropriate workforce programs and services at the local, state, and federal levels
  • Manage intake processes and determine eligibility for grant-funded workforce programs
  • Provide support in career development areas including occupational exploration, aptitude assessments, resume building, interview preparation, and career planning

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous experience in workforce development, career counseling, or a related field is a plus
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
