Job summary

Northwest Human Services, Inc. in Monmouth, OR is seeking a Care Team Medical Assistant to support a collaborative healthcare team in a nonprofit community health center.

You will help move patients through visits, obtain vitals, and coordinate care with providers, nursing, reception, behavioral health, and psychiatry teams. This full-time, non-exempt role requires MA-related training, BLS, strong communication, and a passion for diverse populations.

Qualifications

• Education or training in a Medical Assistant, Nursing, or Medical program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients, providers, and staff.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and room patients, obtain vital signs, update medical histories, reconcile medications, and prepare patients for provider visits.
• Review EMR, identify preventive care needs, coordinate referrals, and help patients navigate follow‑up services.
• Perform point‑of‑care testing, EKGs, vision and hearing screenings, injections, immunizations, ear irrigation, dressing applications, and other procedures within scope and training.
• Reinforce provider‑directed patient education and support preventive screenings and chronic disease management.
• Complete timely clinical documentation, update patient records, process orders, and maintain quality assurance logs.
