Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in an ambulatory clinical setting needed.

About the Position

The Care Team Assistant at Legacy Community Health provides both clinical and clerical support to the team. You will ensure that we provide quality and compassionate evidence-based care in a Patient Centered Medical Home environment by assisting with phone calls, lab results, pre-visit planning, medication management, and more.

Location: Legacy Santa Clara Clinic - 5616 Lawndale, Houston TX 77023

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, height, and weight in order to record information in medical records
  • Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens; log the specimens; and prepare them for testing
  • Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections and removing sutures
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies
  • Perform phone consultations with clients regarding test results and health concerns
Shift Schedule
  • Monday - Friday
  • 8am - 5pm

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent
    • Can substitute with 2 years of experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting
  • 2 years of experience in ambulatory clinical setting
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
