Job summary

Cathedral Home is seeking a part-time Youth Advocate to support youth and families in our community. The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, relationship-building, and collaboration with treatment teams to promote client welfare.

The ideal candidate will be 21+, possess a high school diploma, and be committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based support in a trauma-sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Advocate for Youth and Families: Champion the needs of youth and families within the community, ensuring their voices are heard.

Build Strong Relationships: Establish meaningful connections with clients by providing lasting support and guidance.

Address Community Needs: Actively contribute to solutions that meet our community's diverse needs.

Foster Therapeutic Relationships: Develop safe, meaningful, and therapeutic relationships with youth in residential treatment to help them navigate their challenges.

Ensure Safety and Support: Uphold an environment of physical and emotional safety, assisting youth in addressing trauma and building essential life skills.

Provide Trauma-Informed Care: Create a supportive and trauma-informed environment to enhance client safety and well-being.

Engage in Therapeutic Activities: Participate actively in positive, therapeutic relationships with clients through field trips, activities, group discussions, and play.

Manage Behavior Needs: Effectively manage behavior needs and de-escalate crisis situations with compassion and understanding.

Collaborate with Treatment Teams: Work closely with counselors and treatment teams to develop comprehensive goals and objectives for client care plans.

Support Collaboration: Partner with various agencies and child welfare groups to ensure plans are in the best interest of the youth and clients we serve.

Promote Welfare: Show a genuine desire to promote the welfare of children, teens, and families in our community.

  • Shift: Morning/Mid/Overnight - Part-Time (20 hours per week)
  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
