Job Summary:

Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Position Hours:

Three (3) 12-hour shifts, 6:45 p.m. - 7:15 a.m., rotating based on unit need. No specific workdays or days off can be guaranteed.

Department Summary:

We care for adult patients 18 and older with various conditions, including vascular surgeries pre- and post-op, arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, and pre-open heart surgery. Our patients have unique needs related to cardiac and vascular diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with patient care and environmental standards under supervision.
  • Support unit operations, supplies, equipment, and environmental standards.
  • Serve as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
Technical Capabilities:
  • Clinical competencies with interventions like point of care testing and vital signs.
  • Patient documentation with clinical applications.
  • Environment of care setup and maintenance, training peers, and modeling behaviors.
  • Planning and organizing, resource anticipation, task management, and adapting to changes.
Core Accountabilities:
  • Perform routine tasks impacting team performance with guidance.
  • Use discretion and research for routine problems.
  • Apply standards and processes relevant to the job.
  • Guide entry-level coworkers.
