Responsibilities
  • Accountable and responsible for the provision of patient care and comfort under the direct supervision of a registered nurse according to established standards, policies, and procedures of UPMC Washington.
  • Accurately report information to the registered nurse.
  • Assist with clerical responsibilities for assigned patients.
  • Be competent in considering patient population specific age, developmental stages, and unique needs of the assigned population.
  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality.
  • Adhere to all established HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Follow all guidelines related to electronic records, charts, documents, reports, and other organizational policies to ensure patient and family privacy and security.
  • Understand and respect the needs and expectations of patients and families to provide patient and family-centered care.
  • Use appropriate, courteous, respectful, unbiased verbal and written communication skills when interacting with patients, families, visitors, and team members.
Schedule

Rotating days, weekends, and holidays. Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM, 2:30 PM - 3:00 AM, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, 10:30 PM - 11:00 AM. May be required to work other shifts as needed.
