Job summary

Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) seeks a Care Partner to provide patient and administrative support to Nursing staff on 5 West. The unit cares for high-acuity patients with respiratory and infectious diseases.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma and American Heart Association BLS certification, and at least 1 year of experience as a PCSA, MA, or CNA. Fluency in English is required, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to write, speak, and understand English.
• 1+ year experience as a PCSA, Medical Assistant or CNA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient and administrative support to Nursing staff.
• Assist with routine tasks on the unit as needed.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary:

The Care Partner provides patient and administrative support to Nursing staff as necessary.

Unit Description:

5 West is a 32-bed medical-surgical unit dedicated to caring for a high-acuity patient population. The unit focuses on respiratory and infectious diseases and has specialized expertise in the management of chronic ventilator-dependent patients and patients with diabetes.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

Able to write, speak fluently and understand English. 1+ year previous experience as a PCSA, Medical Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) preferred.

Nursing Student Applicants:

Completion of pediatric rotation preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certifications:

High School graduate and American Heart Association BLS required.
