Job summary

CARE PARTNERS in Eugene, OR is seeking a compassionate Care Partner to assist elderly residents with daily living activities, monitor health, and provide companionship. This role emphasizes dignity, respect, and teamwork within our senior living community.

You will work closely with the Wellness Team to document changes, assist with meals and mobility, support social activities, and communicate clearly with residents and families.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers.
  • Licensing documentation (if required by state) and pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Health monitoring and documentation: observe, document, and report changes to the Wellness Team.
  • Emotional support: engage in conversation, active listening, and provide companionship.
  • Assist with meals: help elders with meals and feeding if necessary.
  • Engage in social and recreational activities: support elder well-being.
  • Connect: communicate with elders, families, team members, and guests.
  • Keep things clean: light housekeeping and general cleanliness.

What You’ll do

As a Care Partner, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks. Here are some general expectations:

  • You will provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility, possibly with walkers and wheelchairs.
  • You will provide health monitoring and documentation: observe, document, and report changes in the elder’s health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
  • You will give emotional support: may support elders dealing with loneliness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges. Engaging in conversation, active listening, and offering companionship is part of your role.
  • You will assist with Meals: help elders with meals and possibly feed elders who require additional support.
  • You will engage in social and recreational activities: supporting elders in life-enriching activities for their well-being.
  • You will connect: Communicate with elders, their families, other team members, and guests.
  • You will keep things clean: may involve light housekeeping, such as tidying up and ensuring general cleanliness.

  • You will bring good verbal communication and the ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
  • You will bring licensing documentation (if required by your state) and be able to pass a criminal background check.
