Job description

Why Charlie Health?

We are currently facing a nationwide mental health epidemic marked by rising rates of depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders, and suicide. At the same time, those seeking help often encounter barriers—whether geographic, financial, or systemic—that prevent them from receiving timely and effective care. This urgent need calls for a reimagined approach to behavioral health treatment.

At Charlie Health, our mission is to connect the world to life-saving mental health treatment. Our innovative virtual programs combine curated group sessions, individual therapy, and family therapy, delivered through personalized, evidence-based treatment plans designed for sustainable healing from the comfort of home. By connecting individuals with shared experiences and fostering supportive communities, Charlie Health provides a pathway to long-term recovery, with over 90% of our clients seeing improvement in their most challenging mental health symptoms.

Every member of our team shares a deep commitment to this mission. If you’re driven to make a meaningful impact, we invite you to join us in reshaping the future of mental healthcare.

About the Role

We are a startup with a big vision, and your role will be essential to our success. You'll be granted an unparalleled level of responsibility, as your efforts will directly influence how many kids we are able to treat. You will work closely with our team to facilitate admission for hundreds of at-risk youth, ensuring that each patient and family feels cared for by Charlie Health’s admissions team. This position is highly interactive and serves as a critical first point of contact for our patients. The admissions team ensures all processes are completed within designated timelines and that documentation is professional and accurate.

Our team is composed of passionate, forward-thinking professionals eager to take on the challenge of the mental health crisis and provide life-saving solutions. We are looking for a candidate inspired by our mission and excited by the opportunity to increase access to mental health care, impacting millions of lives profoundly.

As a key member of our startup, your role directly supports our mission—expanding the number of young people we can treat. You will be responsible for meeting and exceeding specific admission quotas, actively engaging in patient outreach, and ensuring a seamless admissions process while adhering to strict timelines and documentation standards. Your performance will be measured against KPIs such as admission rates, patient satisfaction, and time-to-admission metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with clients, families, and referral sources to understand their needs and preferences
  • Make accurate and timely outbound referrals for those not admitted to Charlie Health

  • Document all client and referral interactions in the electronic record system
  • Build understanding of referral sources and services provided, working with Clinical Outreach and Partnerships teams
  • Act as a liaison between Charlie Health and partners to meet ongoing needs and maintain a positive client experience
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, achieving performance metrics
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, communications, psychology, social work, or related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience (healthcare, customer/patient-facing roles such as case management, discharge planning, referral relations, admissions, outreach)
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and listening skills
  • Results-oriented with experience working towards concrete targets
  • Proven success in meeting or exceeding KPIs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail
  • Work authorized in the US; native or bilingual English proficiency
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly
