Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 40 PM or 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM PT

About the Role

Magellan Health is seeking multiple Care Managers - Behavioral Health to support California-based contracts. This role involves monitoring mental health and substance abuse services, conducting clinical reviews, and collaborating with providers to ensure effective, medically necessary care. You'll work remotely but must be a California resident with active licensure in the state .

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services for medical necessity and effectiveness.
• Conduct concurrent reviews and develop discharge plans in collaboration with providers.
• Provide crisis intervention, triage, and emergency authorizations.
• Educate members and providers on behavioral health benefits and community resources.
• Collaborate with Physician Advisors and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Advocate for patients and propose alternative treatment plans when necessary.
• Support network development and provider recruitment as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensure (one or more required) :

CEAP, LCSW, LMFT, LMSW, LPC, RN (California state or compact license)

• Education (dependent on licensure) :

Associate's in Nursing, Bachelor's or Master's in Social Work (required)

• Experience :

2+ years post-degree in behavioral health, psychiatric, or substance abuse settings
