Job summary

Cottonwood Canyon Healthcare Center in El Cajon, CA is seeking a reliable Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff and visitors. You will clean public areas, resident rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens, follow safety protocols, and use cleaning chemicals and equipment correctly.

Work can be performed independently or with a team, with strong attention to detail and a helpful, courteous attitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Healthcare cleaning experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions.
• Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
• Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
• Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
• Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
• Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
• Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet facility standards.
