Commonwealth Hand and Physical Therapy, part of Confluent Health, is hiring a Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our Georgetown clinic for a full-time role. You set the tone for patient experience from first call to visit, staying organized, warm, and professional in a fast-paced environment.

As a Care Coordinator, you will manage front desk duties, verify insurance, schedule appointments, collect payments, and protect patient privacy under HIPAA, with ongoing training and clear growth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year in a customer-facing or patient-facing role.
• Ability to multitask while staying organized and detail-oriented.
• Strong phone communication and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources.
• Manage front desk operations including patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls.
• Review, schedule, and follow up on referrals; update patient records and explain next steps.
• Keep patient flow moving by confirming appointments, managing waitlists, and handling cancellations.
• Collect copays and balances; basic payment tracking or reconciliation as needed.
• Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions.

Commonwealth Hand and Physical Therapy, a member of the Confluent Health family, is looking for a Full Time Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our Georgetown team!

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources
• Manage front desk operations including patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls
• Review, schedule, and follow up on incoming referrals by gathering information, creating or updating patient records, and helping patients understand next steps
• Keep patient flow and schedules moving by confirming appointments, working waitlists, filling cancellations, and following up with patients who need future visits
• Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments accurately and professionally, including basic payment tracking or reconciliation when needed
• Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions and documentation

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1+ year of experience in a customer-facing or patient-facing role, this could include retail, hospitality, call center, medical reception, or any setting where you regularly interacted with the public in person or over the phone
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once while staying organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable and confident communicating on the phone, including handling upset or frustrated callers with patience and professionalism
• Basic computer proficiency: comfortable learning new systems, navigating scheduling software, sending emails, and working in spreadsheets
• No prior medical experience required — we provide comprehensive training including EMR navigation, insurance fundamentals, scheduling workflows, and phone etiquette

About

• Pay: $18/HR
• Full Time Schedule: 8am-5pm
