Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a referral and authorization coordinator to assist patients and providers by coordinating referrals, obtaining authorizations and scheduling services. You will review benefits, explain coverage, coordinate surgical procedures and testing across departments, and ensure no care gaps while maintaining accurate schedules.

The role requires a HS diploma, computer experience, and knowledge of insurance coverage. Remote work option is available and hours are 40 per week.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Thorough understanding of Insurance coverage and Medical Necessity policies preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical records software preferred.
  • Customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Complete referrals for patients and coordinates with referring and receiving practices and/or departments.
  • May coordinate and prepare financial estimates for patients.
  • Obtain all authorizations needed.
  • Direct patients to providers in their insurance plan and review benefits/educate on coverage.
  • Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, or other services within various departments with internal and ancillary providers.
  • Review schedules and confirm accuracy and proper time allocation.
  • Follow up on all referrals to ensure no care gaps.

Pay Range: $20.80 - $31.20

Job Summary

Assists patients and providers with coordinating of referrals, obtaining authorizations and scheduling. This position is also responsible for understanding benefits coverage and ensures patient's care is coordinated.

What You'll Need
