This role involves providing a variety of patient care activities supporting the Care Coach Connect Program in patients' homes and some office/clerical duties.

The CMA organizes the clinical environment, supports patient care, assists physicians and nursing staff, and communicates patient needs to the clinical team. Ensures quality customer service and adherence to policies including infection control, privacy, and confidentiality.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Perform duties within the scope of a Certified Medical Assistant, including provider-supervised procedures, injections, diagnostic testing, and phlebotomy.
  2. Coordinate healthcare screening results as directed by providers and policies.
  3. Travel with providers to support patient care in homes, mobile units, and community settings within the NTX Market.
  4. Conduct and complete health screenings according to required metrics.
  5. Process documents accurately, copy results for physicians, and maintain organized records.
  6. Record patient care documentation in medical records promptly and accurately.
  7. Review medical information and test results before patient departure to ensure completeness.
  8. Manage supplies, inventory, and log data, following up on discrepancies.
  9. Promptly present abnormal results to providers for immediate attention.
  10. Prepare clinical team charts post-visit for faxing, filing, and forwarding.
  11. Ensure completion of results compilation and chart notes before visits, including hospital records, lab results, and specialty notes.
  12. Document follow-up appointments and ensure completion in the system.
  13. Review and ensure post-visit recommendations are completed, including prescriptions and referrals.
  14. Maintain patient confidentiality and proper release of information.
  15. Maintain certifications and quality control standards.
  16. Promote a positive work environment and assist team members as needed.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned, operate diagnostic equipment, assist with wound care, specimen collection, blood draws, and EKGs.
  18. Ensure referrals are entered and followed up timely, assist in developing Plan of Care paperwork.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification or registration, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • Basic computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Ability to react calmly in emergencies, travel frequently, and adapt to change.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
  • Proof of immunity to certain diseases or vaccination documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • 3+ years of medical assistant experience or equivalent combined experience.
  • Experience in a medical setting, bilingual skills, good communication, and customer service skills.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull 100 pounds, stand for long periods, and use fine motor skills.
  • Ability to understand instructions, reason logically, and occasionally handle exposure to communicable diseases.

The hourly pay ranges from $16.00 to $28.85, based on experience and other factors. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and 401k.
