Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia, CA seeks a Medication Collection Technician (MCT) to perform home medication collection across the care continuum and enter information for physician and nurse review to support clinical decisions.

Requires California license as a Pharmacy Technician and either an associates degree or healthcare certification. Prior retail or acute care experience preferred; knowledge of Meditech is a plus.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills to interact with patients and all levels of hospital staff.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical products, generic names, routes of administration, dosage forms.
• Working knowledge of medical abbreviations, terminology and disease states.
• Good level of judgment and ability to work independently.
• Typing skills (30 wpm).
• Ability to learn new computer programs to navigate clinical information systems and pharmacy databases.
• Excellent organizational skills for fast-paced workflow.
• Attention to detail.
• Demonstrate basic mathematical skills.
