A leading healthcare provider in Pittsburgh is seeking a Care Attendant to provide limited patient care and support. The role includes responsibilities such as patient observation, assisting with daily living activities, and maintaining a safe environment. Provides limited patient care, support, and observation services in accordance with established policies and procedures. May be directed by the nurse or physician to ensure the highest quality of patient care. Responsibilities include continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients, verbal redirection, alerting nursing staff as needed, and performing core responsibilities such as observation, hygiene (bath and oral care), bed making, transfer assistance, and comfort measures.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of UPMC Care Attendant-Telesitter training, knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques, effective communication skills, and at least one year of hospital experience preferred.
Licensure & Certifications: CPR or BLS certification required within 30 days of hire, based on AHA standards.
