The Resource Pool at UPMC Williamsport has a Full-Time opening for a Care Attendant!

This position will be scheduled as days with rotation, require 1 summer and 1 winter holiday, and every third weekend.

The position also comes with a 10% floating differential!

Purpose:

The Care Attendant provides limited patient care support and observation services in accordance with established policies and procedures, directed by the nurse or physician, to ensure high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and performing observation duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide observation and direct patient care, including bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, and ambulating, as directed by the RN.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, perform safety checks, and ensure proper supply and equipment management.
  • Assist with clerical tasks, communicate effectively with the healthcare team, and support department operations.
  • Report patient status changes, provide feedback, and participate in self-review and ongoing learning.
  • Adhere to safety policies, including standard precautions and bloodborne pathogen protocols.
  • Respond appropriately to emergent situations and provide one-on-one patient supervision.
