Job summary

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Full-Time Care Attendant in our Resource Pool. Shifts include Evening/Nights (3p-3a, 3p-11p, 7p-7a, 11p-7a) with every-other weekend and a holiday rotation.

The role offers a 10% floating differential and a 40-hour work week to support safe patient care and observation in accordance with established policies. The Care Attendant provides help with ADLs, observation, safety checks, transport, and supplies, under RN direction, ensuring a clean, safe patient

Responsibilities

• Provides observation and direct patient care as directed by the RN, including activities of daily living, turning and repositioning, and maintaining a safe patient environment.
• Completes clerical tasks as needed by the department and assists with supplies, equipment, and patient transport.
• Communicates effectively with the health care team and patients; supports safety and infection control policies.
• Responds to emergent situations within the scope of the Care Attendant role and offers one-on-one companionship/supervision when needed.
• Reports changes in patient status to the RN and supports department operations and safety protocols.
