- This job is responsible for assisting with patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse; performs data entry, unit secretarial functions, and equipment processing.
- Provides patient personal care/hygiene and physical comfort, including feeding, bathing, shaving, changing clothes, bed making, ambulation, lifting, turning, moving, transferring, skin care and bowel/bladder elimination. Prepares patient, equipment and supplies for specific procedures/examinations.
- Performs, monitors, reports and documents all clinical activities within scope of practice. Observes and reports changes in patient condition to the RN. Obtains labels and transports samples. Provides patient information to nursing staff for care planning; documents relevant patient data.
- Assists nursing staff in patient admission, discharge, and transfer by performing activities like inventory, providing care items, orientation, and transportation.
- If assigned, checks, cleans, and disinfects mobile medical equipment following standards and manufacturer instructions; ensures disinfectant contact time.
- Maintains a neat environment. Orders, stocks, replenishes supplies and equipment, reports issues, and manages repairs and safety hazards.
- Verifies and stocks supplies, maintains order, cleans and organizes charts and the unit environment. Initiates work orders for repairs and reports defective equipment and hazards. Cleans keyboards per protocol.
- Ensures current forms are stocked, discards outdated ones, and conducts environmental rounds to ensure safety and cleanliness.

Essential Duties
- Provide personal care and comfort measures; prepare patients and equipment for procedures.
- Monitor, report, and document clinical activities; report patient condition changes; transport samples; assist in care planning documentation.
- Support patient admission, discharge, and transfer activities.
- Check, clean, and disinfect medical equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment; manage supplies and equipment; report issues and initiate repairs.
- Verify, order, and stock supplies; keep the unit orderly; manage charts and documentation; support environmental safety.
*Maintain a safe environment, adhere to safety protocols, and participate in emergency and disaster drills.*
- Use proper hand hygiene, identify patients correctly, and follow safety standards and precautions.
- Assist in survey readiness and support emergency responses.
*Support unit activities including communication, scheduling, and administrative tasks.*
- Greet and assist visitors, staff, and patients; facilitate communication; assist with scheduling and patient information gathering.
- Support admissions, discharges, and transfers; handle requests for supplies, repairs, and equipment.
*Support documentation, billing, and audit activities.*
- Maintain records, generate reports, manage charts, and support system downtime procedures.
*Qualifications*
*Education & Experience*
- Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program or military medical training; six months of related experience preferred; hospital experience preferred.
*Licensure & Certification*
- Registered as a CNA by the Washington State Nursing Commission.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association; quarterly RQI competency required post-hire.

*Pay Range*
$23.28 - $31.71 /hour
