Job summary

Senior Lifestyle in Gorham, ME is seeking a compassionate caregiver for the night shift (10:30 PM–7:00 AM) to support residents in memory care and assisted living with daily activities, hygiene, mobility, and companionship.

You will document daily care logs, follow the supervisor's schedule, and collaborate with a caring team to ensure residents’ dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in senior care.
• Proficient English to communicate with residents, staff, and emergency responders.
• CNA or CHHA license may be required depending on state.
• Basic computer skills required for daily documentation.
• Compassionate, professional, and team-oriented demeanor.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to make independent decisions when situations warrant it.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ambulatory tasks, bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility).
• Administer reminders for medications and escort residents as needed.
• Follow supervisor-approved schedules for memory care and assisted living units.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents and encourage independence and dignity.
• Document daily care logs and communicate resident concerns to supervisor.

Job Description

• Night shift (10:30PM to 7AM), 40 hours/week, working in both Memory Care and Assisted Living units.
• Provide assistance as needed with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living.
• Follow the schedule of resident’s needs set out by supervisor.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents.
• Document daily log of assistance.
• Inform supervisor of any resident issues or concerns.
• Respect and encourage the independence and dignity of the residents.
• Respect residents’ confidentiality.

Qualifications

• You have at least one year of experience working in senior care.
• Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisor and other employees, and respond and communicate to emergency situations.
• You may need to have a CNA or CHHA license depending on the state.
• You have basic computer skills.
• You are compassionate, professional, kind, engaging, empathetic and helpful.
• You have the ability to work as a part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
• You possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• You have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in high stress situations.
